Manassas OES Installation

Posted in Blog on April 9th, 2018 by Webmaster

On March 10th, we arrived at the Lodge shortly after 1pm.  We brought in our food and got changed for the Installation.  It was really nice since Mom Jean was installed as Worthy Matron this year and she has always been so helpful to our Assembly.  Dad Tom was supposed to be installed as Worthy Patron, but he couldn’t be there.  This year Mom Jean is honoring women and her charity is blood drives and she talked about the importance of donating blood.  After the Installation closed, Dad Joe Grist and Vanessa did a flag tribute. Then some of the Rainbow Girls paired up with their Eastern Star Mothers and performed a Ribbon Ceremony for Mom Jean.  Once the Ribbon Ceremony was over, the Prince William Chapter for DeMolay added beads to the ribbons with their own ceremony.  Then there were pictures and a reception in the dining hall.  The Rainbow Girls that were there included:  Katie, Dalanie, Zoey, Vanessa, M’Balu, JoElla, Maribel, Sami, Jazmyn, Batu, Gigi, Abigail, Emma and myself.  The adults and parents from Rainbow who were there included:  Mom J, Mom Jean, Mom Robin, Mom Barbara, Mom Darcy, Mom Paula, Mom Louisa, Dad Clancy, Mom Deborah, Mom Joanne, Dad Wyatt, Mom Debbie, Dad Carl, Mom Deborah, and Mom Joanne.

OES Installation

Posted in Blog on April 8th, 2018 by Webmaster

On March 10th, 2018, Mom Jean was installed as Worthy Matron of the Wimodausis Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star.  The girls that went were: Isabella, Zoey, Abby, Vanessa, Katie, Sami, Maribel, Batu, M’Balu and myself.  Some of the girls had said parts with their Moms in the East, called the Ribbon Ceremony.

As I am the Grand Flag Bearer of the O.E.S. Flag, I thought it would only be right if I came to the installation.

In the end, everything was beautiful and the food was delicious!  Congratulations Mom Jean!

Masonic Dinner

3/2/2018

We arrived at the Lodge at 5:30pm and we got the dining room set up and unloaded Mom Belinda’s car with all the food.  One of the containers spilled in the back of her car and it looked bad but smelled good!  We started serving dinner after the prayer at 6:30pm.  For dinner we had Butter chicken and tofu, rice, salad, dessert, coffee, lemonade and iced tea.  The Rainbow Girls that served dinner were Gigi, Dalanie, JoElla, Akshita, Lilli and me.  We all helped to clean up and we were done early and were able to go home by 8pm.

Manassas helps Child ID

Posted in Blog on November 18th, 2017 by Webmaster

On October 7, 2017, Manassas Assembly helped out the Masons and the sheriff’s department with their Child ID booth.  Zoey W. organized our part of the event.  We were to sign up in two hour shifts and I was on the 11am to 1pm shift.  While I was there, I also saw Joella, Ashley, MacKenzie, Zoey W., M’Balu, Batu, Delanie, Gigi, Alyssa, Katie, Sami, and Maribel, but since I didn’t work the early morning shift I didn’t get to see everyone that was there.  Unfortunately, I got sick from the lunch I had while working and was unable to work the Spaghetti Dinner that was later that afternoon and into the evening, but I did come get the food and it was delicious!
