A Grand Year: Fredericksburg/ Richmond GV

Between June 2019 and March 2020 we had many Grand Assembly Events and I think that during this time it is very important to remember all the good things that we got to do!

In September we had our very first Grand Visitation. It was held in Richmond, where we learned the lessons taught by the Scarecrow. I had the opportunity to walk around the assembly room, learning lessons, and answering questions, and in the end, we helped the scarecrow find his brain. After the GV we ate snacks and took photos in front of an emerald city backdrop that was super cute. It was a very fun day with friends and a great visit.

Dreams That You Dare to Dream

Lessons From Over the Rainbow: Dreams That You Dare to Dream

Dorothy’s trip to Oz was difficult, but she persevered and found a place over the rainbow. Dorothy’s desire to see more of the world and have new adventures was so great that she literally dreamed it into existence. The word dream has two meanings: a series of thoughts, images, or sensations occurring in a person’s mind during sleep, or, a cherished aspiration, ambition, or ideal. Dorothy combined both definitions to form OZ. A state of mind that she herself created. When Dorothy wakes up at home and realizes that it was all a dream, the idea that she is the one with power is understood. The whole adventure was a product of her own imagination and a journey towards self-awareness. A dream. And sometimes, the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true.

A Grand Year: Scholarship Bowling

Between June 2019 and March 2020 we had many Grand Assembly Events and I think that during this time it is very important to remember all the good things that we got to do!

The first event that we had for our Scholarship fund was scholarship bowling. We had this event right after the Masonic Family Day Parade, so everyone who participated in the whipped cream pie fundraiser still had whipped cream in their hair- so that was lovely.

We met at a bowling alley in Richmond and got ourselves divided into teams. There were plenty of participants, as we he just left MAHOVA. We had visitors from DeMolay and Jobs Daughters, who we had fun talking and bowling with. We gave prizes to the Highest Score Bowler, the Lowest Score Bowler, and the Bowler who received the most pledges.

We raised a good amount of money for our Virginia Rainbow Scholarship, and had a great time while doing so!

A Grand Year: Springfield/Quantico/Ashburn GV

Between June 2019 and March 2020 we had many Grand Assembly Events and I think that during this time it is very important to remember all the good things that we got to do!

In February, we had the Springfield/Quantico/Ashburn GV which focused on the lessons we learned from the Tin-Man. The acting Worthy Advisors did a lovely job throughout the day, and they had some very fun skits! I answered riddles, walked around the yellow brick road, and had a great time. This was the last in-person GV that we were able to have. I had a great time talking to the girls and having fun with my rainbow sisters.
