On October 27 and 28, 2012 Smithfield Assembly #5 volunteered to work at the Norfolk Masonic Temple in Norfolk.

Some people worked downstairs face painting while the rest worked upstairs tour guiding and scaring. On the first day Michelle and Lindsey face painted downstairs. Casey and Abby tour guided upstairs. Stevie, Lauren, and I worked in the Ghouls Room scaring people as they came through the room.

On the second day Lindsey and Liz did the face painting. Upstairs tour guiding was Casey, Kendra, Abbey, Nina, Vanessa, and I. Scaring was Bella and then later on Nina, Vanessa, and Kendra. Again we worked in the Ghouls Room.

At the temple, they also sold hotdogs, hamburgers, barbeque, fries, soda and water, and candy.

We were scheduled for Sunday October 29, but Hurricane Sandy made us cancel.

Recently, Fredericksburg Assembly 12 was contacted by ROC Solid Foundation about another opportunity to build in the area; we were very excited and eager to help out once again with such an awesome organization. This time we built a playground, instead of a “remodel”, for a little 5 year old boy named Dylan who has Leukemia. We had the Cochrane twins, Rachel and Micaela, with Dad Cochrane, The Largents, and finally my mom and me; we were all eager to help! It was a lot different from the other build because we had less people, and only half a day, but because we were all so dedicated, we got the job done just in time. The look on Dylan’s face when he saw the playground made all the work worth it. Fredericksburg Assembly can’t wait for another opportunity to build. Thank You, Roc Solid!

On September 30, 2012 we initiated three new girls. Our assembly knew their parts and our initiates had a wonderful time. We had many guests attend. Afterwards we had a little reception. We had food and drinks. Everyone got to fully meet our new members. Our initiation was a great success. Thank you to all who attended.
