Tacky Tuesday Meeting

Posted in Blog on August 8th, 2012 by Webmaster

For the last meeting of my term, I wanted to have a fun and memorable meeting. I decided on a meeting where everyone shows up in wacky, tacky attire. However, in order to wear tacky clothes, the girls were told to bring in one school item for a backpack that would be given to a child in need. So, everyone got their outfits picked out and one school item ready to go and met up at the lodge promptly at 6:30. Before the meeting we had a blast acting crazy while setting up the assembly room. After the assembly room was ready to go, I asked Stevie to do something crazy to my hair to top off my tacky outfit. I gotta give it to her, she surely did come up with the craziest hair style I had ever seen in my life. I had odd twists of hair in random places along with pig tails and a piece of hair completely left out. By the time 7:15 came, everyone was ready to have a great meeting. Everyone knew their parts and the meeting went by very smoothly. At the end of the meeting we all went downstairs to celebrate the end of a great term with ice cream. It was a great way to end a great term.

Manassas Assembly Institution, Initiation, and Installation

The institution was magnificent. The assembly girls weren’t allowed to go in, but we were all excited and nervous waiting for the initiation and the installation. We were excited to have a fabulous Worthy Adviser named Marina. Sydney was selected to represent all the other girls in the initiation ceremony. She went to each station to learn what they all meant. Ten girls were installed into offices at the installation. We also had four pledges in attendance. We were all anxious. We were treated with a wonderful dinner in the lodge’s dinning room between the initiation and installation.  There were a lot of people that came from around the state to share in our special day (dignitaries from Manasseh Lodge, Eastern Star, Amaranth, and special guests from Virginia and surrounding states.) We are very happy to be a growing part of the Masonic Family now.

Fredericksburg Installation!

The Fredericksburg Rainbow Girls had their Installation on July 15, 2012 at 3:00pm. Hanna went in as Worthy Advisor, and Christine as the Worthy Associate Advisor.

We all had a blast! The entire Lodge room was packed with people! Hanna did beautifully, and her Installing Team was just amazing.

During the reception, our Worshipful Master Dad Chris Decker danced with Hanna to “Apache” (Jump on it) to retrieve Hanna’s mascot from the mascot bandit, Rachel.

In the end, Fredericksburg received a new Worthy Advisor, an awesome show by Dad Decker and Hanna, and full tummies from Mom Zafar’s awesome cooking.

Virginia’s 19th Grand Assembly

June 23rd-25th

About two weeks ago, we had our 19th Grand Assembly in Virginia! We had our traditional opening session with the Cavalcade of Flags, a ritualistic opening, and the announcement of the Rose Lecture competition winner, who was Kathy. After opening session, Nicole planned a talent show with many different acts such as dancing, singing, and musical instruments. On day two, there was a Devotional and Memorial service before morning session. During morning session, we had our inititation and rose lecture, along with remarks and announcements. Lunch came after morning session, and then afternoon session! In the afternoon session, Cavalcade performed again, there were more remarks and announcements, our Grand Worthy Advisor for the 2012-2013 term was announced, and then lastly a ritualistic closing. That evening was the Grand Banquet. Competition winners were announced, along with the Grand Officers and Grand Representatives for the upcoming year. After the banquet, we all went to the pool for a pool party with our rainbow sisters. On Monday, our last day at Grand Assembly, the Grand Officers and Grand Representatives were installed, and then it was time to head home. We had a great weekend with our rainbow family, and can’t wait until next year!
