Worthy Advisor’s Service Project

At my first meeting on January 22, 2013 as Worthy Advisor, I had asked people to bring in food to collect for the food bank, which is one of my charities, and I also had asked people to bring in bras. A majority member from Quantico Assembly talked to Casey and told her about a bra drive that her work place was holding for the YWCA Women’s shelter and asked if we could participate and help collect bras. Well I sent out an email asking people to bring some and I set a goal of just 15 bras, well, way to go Richmond Assembly because we blew that number out the water with a total of 42 bras! We also started our food collection with 17 food items! It was a great first meeting. Thank you

Richmond Assembly # 10 for being so awesome!

Installing Officers of Richmond No. 10

When I walked in the Scottish Rite Temple, I had no idea what I was going to be installed as, so I asked Mom Simmons. Mom Simmons told me that I was getting installed as Drill Leader. I called my mom to figure out where she was and sadly the call dropped. That made my mom really mad. I called her back, only to find out that she was already talking to Mom Simmons. Thankfully Mr. Jesse came, along with my stuffed owl Charlie, who wants to be a ‘Rainbow Owl’. Mr. Jesse coming to the installation meant a lot to me because I really wanted him there. Erin gave all the girls of Richmond Assembly a Mickey Mouse bracelet as a walking gift, which was really nice of her. The bracelet was so cool!

What really surprised me was that I got my Pandora-like bracelet with a red bead. I had a lot of fun. Erin had a great sense of humor and Casey did a beautiful job installing Richmond.

Before the welcoming speech done by Mom Cochrane, I recited the Service Lecture to Mom Simmons, and I said it letter perfect!! 🙂 There was so much standing up in the beginning, that I thought my legs were going to be stiff when I sat down. Thankfully that did not happen. The men who presented the Flag (The National Sojourners from Chapter 545) did an absolutely wonderful job presenting the flag. A lot of awards were given to the girls of Assembly #12, and it was a really beautiful service. At the reception, I went overboard on the sweets. My favorite were the strawberry & creme flavored Creme Savers that they had. All the food was really yummy. I bought two pins from GWA Lauren’s term. I’m keeping one and plan to give the other one to the first friend of mine I convince to join the Rainbow Girls.

Fairfax's installation was very short, since they installed Rachel as Worthy Advisor, Cassidy as Chaplain, Katie as Fidelity, and Mom Babbitt as Mother Advisor. I LOVED the song that Rachel chose for their installation, the My Little Pony theme song. On the ride home, Mom McKinley, Mom Simmons, my mom, Kathy, Brigitte, and I toke Marina home and went to Wawa's. Mom got me a drink that tasted like liquid caramel. The drink was good and made me go to sleep after drinking 3/4 of it.
