Grand Assembly 2021 – Saturday
The Saturday morning session went just as well I gave my initiatory lesson as Grand Patriotism. I am very happy with not only my performance, but with the performance of every Grand Officer. We took pictures after the session, and then we changed into our “fun” casual shoes for some pictures. After that, the Grand Officers attended the Grand Officer luncheon, where we enjoyed lunch with each other in our fun shoes. We each received a Snoopy plush from Grand Worthy Advisor, Vanessa, as well as an individual photo album. We presented Vanessa with her gift from the Grand Officers, a quilt made from squares we had each designed. The Saturday afternoon session was also beautiful, but full of tears for many of us. Three sisters from my assembly took part in the Majority service. I was doing fine until Mom Jean, one of my assembly moms, gave her part in the ceremony to her daughter Abby, and when she started crying so did many of us. I was able to sign the Book of Memories for the first time, which took a lot of practice to get the hang of, but was ultimately a very memorable part of the session. At the Grand Banquet that night there was a fun 50’s theme, and my Assembly received many new offices for the ensuing year. Quantico-Freedom Assembly also won the “Assembly of the Year” award for the first time as a recently formed assembly and we are still celebrating. I was announced as the new Grand Nature as well as being the Grand Representative to Nebraska for the new term. One of my former assembly sisters and greatest friends in Rainbow, Lorkin, received the honor of being the new Grand Worthy Associate Advisor, and I am so proud of her and everything she will accomplish! After the banquet, we changed into new dresses and headed down to the dance, before going to bed. It was a long day, but ultimately a fun and emotional one.
In Rainbow Love and Service,
Zoe
