Dinner Service leads to Dinner for a Family
On November 21st, Smithfield Assembly served dinner at the American Legion for their Museum. The members come together from across the area and then visited the War Museum in Newport News. When we arrived, everyone was socializing for a few minutes. We all put on aprons and served plates of food to about 35 people. After they finished eating, cleared the tables, and cleaned up the area. The American Legion made a generous donation to our Assembly for all of our hard work.
When we left, we went to Wal-Mart to purchase food for our service project. We put together a food basket for the less fortunate. We bought a whole meal for a family that would not have had one. It was a great night and we really enjoy doing for others.
It made us feel great doing something for others!
