Foster’s Dinner

Posted in Blog on January 16th, 2021 by Christi Reed

On October 10th, 2020, many assemblies went to have dinner at Fosters. Fosters donated 20% of the proceeds that day to the Scholarship Fund!   It was a lot of fun.  We ordered, burgers, chicken strips, grilled cheese, and more.  After some people were eating, we decided to take a walk around old town Manassas.  We had lots of funny conversations and got to look at really pretty buildings.  There were a lot of people smiling because of us laughing as we walked down the streets of old town.  After a little while, everyone had finished eating and we head over to Vertical Rock to go rock climbing!

Scholarship Rock Climbing

Posted in Blog on January 15th, 2021 by Christi Reed

On October 10th, 2020, we had a scholarship event at Vertical Rock and got to go rock climbing.  All Covid-19 and social distancing precautions were followed.  There were girls from many different assemblies! There was so much to do and so many walls to climb.  There were easy walls, scary walls, extremely hard walls, short walls, and high walls.  Everyone has so much fun climbing them.  Our Grand Worthy Advisor works at Vertical Rock, so she got to do something really cool for everyone to watch.  She climbed a very high wall, and rock by rock she clipped her rope at little checkpoints, it was really cool!  The first time she did it she got all the way to the top and hopped back down.  The second time she did it, she got a little over three quarters of the way, and then fell from very high up, afterwards we found out it was actually on purpose and it was something they did for fun.  It was amazing.  There were also some rocks you could adopt!  It was $5 to adopt a rock.  I adopted two, one looked like a croissant, so I named it “Le Frank” and the other I named “Damien”.  We had so much at Vertical Rock, and I hope we get to do it again soon!

A Grand Year: Scholarship Bowling

A Grand Year: Scholarship Bowling

Between June 2019 and March 2020 we had many Grand Assembly Events and I think that during this time it is very important to remember all the good things that we got to do!

The first event that we had for our Scholarship fund was scholarship bowling. We had this event right after the Masonic Family Day Parade, so everyone who participated in the whipped cream pie fundraiser still had whipped cream in their hair- so that was lovely.

We met at a bowling alley in Richmond and got ourselves divided into teams. There were plenty of participants, as we he just left MAHOVA. We had visitors from DeMolay and Jobs Daughters, who we had fun talking and bowling with. We gave prizes to the Highest Score Bowler, the Lowest Score Bowler, and the Bowler who received the most pledges.

We raised a good amount of money for our Virginia Rainbow Scholarship, and had a great time while doing so!

Bowl-A-Thon

Posted in Blog on April 7th, 2020 by Christi Reed

On the day we went to Masonic family day, the Rainbow girls went to the scholarship bowl-a-thon to fund raise for our scholarship fund this year. It was me, Phoenix, Kaitlyn, and Libbie to support it. We were able to play three games before we left and it was fun hanging out with everybody!!
