Masonic Youth Night at George Washington Masonic Memorial – April 14th, 2022

Posted in Blog on July 12th, 2022 by Christi Reed

On April 14th, I was honored to represent the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls at the George Washington Masonic Memorial. I was so thankful to be able to be shown a little bit around the memorial before sitting down to a fantastic dinner and getting to talk with some of the Masons. After dinner, we all moved to the Lodge Room, where each youth representative was asked to speak. I discussed what it means to be a Rainbow Girl, how it shapes us, and the good we are able to do for our communities. I was so grateful to have been asked to speak, and hope I am able to visit the memorial again soon!

Potentate Ball – April 23rd, 2022

Posted in Blog on July 12th, 2022 by Christi Reed

On April 23rd, Manassas Assembly was asked to help at the Kena Shrine Potentate Ball. Despite the GV and MCHQWA Ball also being held that day, we were lucky enough to have enough girls able to work the dinner! While traffic from Richmond did cause a few girls to be almost late, everyone made it on time to help bus the tables and start washing dishes! We had a great time cracking jokes in the kitchen washing dishes and were so happy to be able to help our Masonic Family.

Murder Mystery at Kena – March 5th!

Posted in Blog on July 12th, 2022 by Christi Reed

On March 5th, after the Manassas/Quantico GV, everyone began getting ready for the Fairytale themed Murder Mystery that would take place that night! Upon arrival at Kena, you could see a large assortment of fables and fairy tales had come to life! Princesses and huntsman alike had all appeared before your eyes! Unfortunately, during the course of the evening, Snow White was killed! After a night of blackmail, bribery, and theft, it was eventually uncovered that a dwarf named Herb was the murderer!

This event was so much fun to attend! Many props to the adults and girls involved in the planning and execution of the event!

Kings Dominion

Posted in Blog on July 12th, 2022 by Christi Reed

On Saturday, May 28th, The Rainbow Girls from both Manassas and Richmond Assemblies and I came to Kings Dominion as a fun event. I was with the group of the girls in my assembly, where we first decided to ride the Dominator, a rollercoaster full of loops. We then took the Intimidator, which was the tallest and fastest roller coaster at 305 feet and a blazing 91 mph! After that, we went to a 4d coaster, which I found to be quite dizzying but fun at the same time. After we went on all the most exciting rides, we took a break and ate Mac and Cheese at a restaurant. I had to leave early because I had younger siblings, so I don’t know what the girls did after I left. I cannot wait to see what is next in store for our assembly’s future leisurely events.
