Thoughts From Our Newest Member

Posted in News on May 1st, 2012 by soccergirl

Last night I went to a party after my Rainbow Girls initiation. I had a really good time there. It took over two hours to get to where the dance was. When I got there I met my big sister Chrysta. Brianna ran up to us and pulled us into the crowd. We played around and ran in circles and acted crazy! It was a lot of fun with my new sisters. Later in the night, I ran into one of my new Rainbow sisters crying. I got some other sisters that I knew. They all rushed to comfort her, and I did too. I learned that Rainbow Girls are there for each other. Now I plan to show part of my Rainbow spirit by showing others comfort, both inside and outside of the Rainbow Girls. I am looking forward to future events.

I’m a Rainbow Girl!

Posted in News on April 30th, 2012 by Webmaster

Last night I was initiated into the Rainbow Girls! I was nervous because I was afraid of messing up. When the door closed, my first thought was ‘they are locking me out’. When someone came out my thought was ‘finally’.

When I walked in everyone was staring at me. It was freaky! There was a lot of talking and walking next. I learned that there is a lot of commitment in being a Rainbow Girl.

When they finally said I was a Rainbow Girl I though ‘Yay!’ and I didn’t care that everyone was staring at me. I wanted to do a happy dance!

Now I plan to participate in this the best I can. I feel ecstatic and nervous about being a Rainbow Girl. I hope everyone likes me and they never regret having me!

What’s important in Rainbow: Food and Rocks

Posted in News on April 29th, 2012 by soccergirl

I went on an investigation for Athena. She was so adorable asking so many great questions about rainbow. She asked a few questions like what to expect at the meetings, and do we serve food or snacks at the meetings. It was very interesting to hear what is most important when joining a “club” in an eleven year olds mind. She is very smart and knows many different types of rocks. That conversation got started when she showed me her cool “worry stone” because she wanted to know if she could bring that to the meetings. Athena is a very nice, smart, and sweet girl, I am so excited to bring her into Rainbow and I hope everyone else is too!

Minute-to-win-it Success

Posted in News on April 29th, 2012 by soccergirl

On one Friday, I helped my friend at her church volunteer in helping little handicap kids play minute-to-win-it games for a fundraiser. I was stationed at the game called “Play it by Ear.” This game had pennies in soda cans, and you had to put the cans in order from lightest to heaviest by shaking and lifting the cans. If they won it under a minute, they would receive a coupon for a free milkshake or something enjoyable. It was a lot of fun and over 300 people showed up. I would say that it was a SUCCESS!!

Smithfield Assembly Installation of Officers

Posted in News on March 13th, 2012 by Webmaster

Our Installatin was on January 14, 2012. Lauren went in as Worthy Advisor for this term. Her mascot is the owl. The theme for this term is ”Unmask your inner beauty” and the motto is “When all else fails, just remember: Smile, be beautiful, but most importantly, be yourself!” Everybody did a great job! Everybody had a good time at the reception that fallowed. Fredericksburg Assembly stole Lauren’s mascot and made the whole Assembly dance to “Jump on it.” It was really funny! Even the Pledge girls had to join in. Everybody had a great time! Congratulations Smithfield Assembly!
